About Us

The South Western Counties Cat Club was formed in 1931 and is affiliated to the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy. Our President is Mrs Jo Saberton and our joint Vice Presidents are Mrs Liz Hornett and Mr John Burley. The Club is one of the longest established area cat clubs and celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2001. We are affiliated to the GCCF & FAB and hold a Championship Show each year in September - we held our 60th show last year on 22 September 2012.

Our Annual General Meeting is held in March each year, and all member are welcome to attend and get together for a lunch beforehand.

We also hold a Lunch Party in December where cups are awarded to those members whose cats have won trophies at our Show. The event also usually includes a talk from a guest speaker - as well as, of course, a delicious lunch, quiz, raffle etc This event is held at the Victory Hall in Kenton, near Exeter. We hope to see as many members as possible, not just those who have won trophies.

The Club keeps a Kitten Register with details of members who currently have kittens for sale - see Kitten List page..

We also aim to promote the welfare of cats in the South West, and work hard to help pedigree cats that need rehoming.
